Paula Laubach, Founder & CEO
Paula Laubach is the founder and CEO of Brit Street Records, bringing decades of experience as a musician together with a background in business, project management, and professional leadership.
Paula began playing guitar and bass at 14, inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan and the hair metal bands of the era. The first song she learned was Cinderella's “Nobody's Fool,” and by 16 she was playing in her first band. After high school, she played with a few cover bands before other priorities required music to take a much smaller role in her life for a number of years.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Paula returned to playing more actively when she joined Uncle Momma Kitty on bass. That project eventually evolved into Die Hard Habits and helped reignite her involvement in writing, performing, and the business side of independent music.
Paula founded Brit Street Records on January 1, 2024, while Die Hard Habits was still active. The label was created as a broader professional and promotional platform around independent music, giving Paula a structure for industry outreach, live events, promotion, and opportunities that extended beyond the band itself.
When Die Hard Habits ended in August 2024, Brit Street Records continued. Paula shifted her creative focus to Daph Veil, releasing the project's first single on September 26, 2024. Her experience on both sides of independent music—as a performing artist and as the person responsible for the business, promotion, organization, and strategy behind a project—has become central to the philosophy of Brit Street Records.
Outside of music, Paula has more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including nearly 20 years in leadership and management roles. Her career began with training as a Combat Medic and Radiology Specialist in the Texas Army National Guard and developed into a long career in healthcare operations and management. She also holds a Master's in Business and a Master's in Project Management.
That combination of creative experience, business education, and professional leadership shapes the way Paula approaches Brit Street Records: artist-first, organized, strategic, and grounded in an understanding of what independent musicians are actually trying to accomplish.
Her work with the label focuses on artist development, promotion, industry relationships, strategic planning, and building opportunities that allow independent artists to grow without sacrificing the creative identity that made the music worth pursuing in the first place.
